WE: The Regional Children's Clinical Hospital is the main children's hospital in the Sverdlovsk Region. Our main tasks are to protect children’s health and to provide affordable high-quality medical services on the basis of the cutting-edge technologies used for diagnostic, medical treatment and follow-up care for children and pregnant women. World class specialists workin the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital (70% of doctors have the highest qualificationcategory). Moreover, the RCCH is an inpatient site, where the researchers from the Ural StateMedical University may introduce advanced technologies in clinical practice.

HISTORY AND MILESTONES: The Regional Children's Clinical Hospital was opened in 1957 Its history includes several periods. In February 1957 – the hospital had at first 15, and then 50 beds for children with different medical conditions. In those days, the hospital resided in a small wooden building in a rural setting – Romashka Village on the bank of Lake Baltym.

In 1964, the Regional Children's Outpatient Clinic was opened, and in 1967 newly built brickbuildings were made available for the first specialized children's somatic departments. In 1979, the construction of a modern campus for the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital was completed. The specialized somatic departments moved to that place and the first in the Urals specialized surgical departments were opened there. In 1994-1998, 2 more hospital buildings were added, in which nowadays there is the Children's Hematology Center, a laboratory, and several diagnostic andsomatic departments. On February 3, 2006, the Center for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology with a total area of 8,500 sq.m. was opened. It provides high-tech medical aid to mothers and children,including transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells.

On December 25, 2010, the RCCH opened the Regional Perinatal Center, which annually handles approximately 5,000 deliveries. It provides state-of-the-art care for women and infants,renders a wide variety of services including obstetrics, gynecology, neonatology, neonatal surgery,maternal fetal medicine, and offers outpatient, consultative, diagnostic and rehabilitation aid to women and young children.

TODAY: The Regional Children's Clinical Hospital is a large children's multidisciplinaryhospital complex with a total floor space of 71,415 square meters, located on 20 hectares, furnished with modern diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Many of the hospital departments apply uniquecutting-edge medical technologies. The total bed capacity is 727 beds. Annually, the RCCH's Outpatient Clinic provides holistic clinical counseling to more than 130,000 children. 3,500 surgeries are performed every year, more than 18,000 children and 6,500 women are treated indifferent departments of the hospital.
