Spectrum of activities pertaining to anesthesia care, resuscitation and intensive care:

  • Use of the laryngeal mask airway in pediatric anesthesia;
  • Use of Ethrane as part of balanced anesthesia care in children;
  • Fibrobronchoscopy;
  • Prolonged mechanical ventilation for patients with respiratory failure of various origins;
  • Optimization of respiratory therapy in infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

 

Medical conditions and patients:

  • Severe physical pathology in children older than 12 months
  • Acute renal failure of any etiology;
  • Decompensation of chronic pathology requiring renal replacement therapy;
  • Multiple organ failure, sepsis;
  • Acute chemical poisoning in children under 12 years of age (services of children'stoxicological hospital);
  • Patients with chronic kidney disease receiving hemodialysis;
  • Pregnant, parturient and post-parturient women (hospitalized in the Regional Perinatal Center) with complicated pregnancies and pathologies requiring extracorporeal therapy;
  • Extracorporeal treatment procedures in other intensive care units, including the RCCH Neonatal Department;
  • Placement of temporary and permanent central venous catheters in patients requiringcontinuous renal replacement therapies;
  • Consultative assistance to doctors practicing in different healthcare facilities of the Sverdlovsk Region




 

Blood Transfusion Department

Typical procedures performed include:

  • Blood drawing and blood collection;
  • Manufacture of blood components: red cell mass, red cell suspension, fresh frozen plasma,platelet concentrate, filtration of cryoprecipitate through standard blood filters;
  • ABO blood type determination, reporting, and verification;
  • Individual selection of the red cell mass for "high-risk" recipients;
  • Use of DiaMed gel microcolumn assay for blood typing:
  • Pre-transfusion washing of red blood cells;
  • Quarantining of fresh frozen plasma;
  • Discontinuous-flow centrifugal thrombocytopheresis.
